As parents, coaches, volunteers and board members, EGSL is committed to providing all girls with an experience that fosters positive self-esteem, teamwork, and individual growth. We are committed to providing a positive softball environment for each player and cultivate her love of the game by teaching her the rules of fast-pitch softball and developing her softball knowledge and skills. We measure success in terms of your daughter being excited to play softball year after year.

Spring Recreational Season Update

Dear Softball Families,

These are unprecedented times.  As a terrible sickness progresses through our society many of us face decisions and hardships that we thought we would never face. We are all in this together and will continue to support each other, as families do.  Our first and foremost concern is the health and well-being of everyone. We continue to follow the protocols set by the federal, state and our local government as well as the direction of the MIAA and USA softball. We remain optimistic as we tread these turbulent waters in anticipation of playing some ball under sunny skies.

Our board continues to discuss options and strategies for the upcoming season. In congruence with current recommendations and mandates, we have moved Recreation Softball Opening Day to May 4 with our first games to begin on May 16th.

There will be no opening day parade. We have also foregone evaluation day and instead will hold a virtual draft in order to build and roster teams for both the major and senior divisions. All minor league teams will also undergo a team designation the same we have done in prior years.

Regarding Summer Travel Ball, there has been no decisions or recommendations from the Hock Board as of yet. They too are following the same protocols set forth by USA Softball and our state.

We are cancelling our April fundraiser "First Pitch". Our May event dedicated to the Jim Hartman Memorial Scholarship, will be moved to a future date, potentially September.

We will continue to monitor the situation and stay fluid in adapting new policies and protocols with the understanding that our dates may change. Our goal is to keep everyone safe.

Please continue to visit our website (www.eastongirlssoftball.com) and our Facebook page for updates and other information including fun activities and drills you can do at home. We stress the importance of staying connected to friends and families.

We are so fortunate as an organization to have local businesses sponsor us year after year.  Please consider them for take-out, gift card or scheduling future services:

COVID-19 Update

EGSL softball family,

We want to provide an update regarding the current situation with COVID-19 as it relates to softball. We have been in constant communications with the town of Easton, the MIAA, USA Softball and we continue to stay in touch with the DPH and CDC protocols.

Our first priority is the safety of our softball community. While we understand the risk for infection remains low we feel it is prudent to suspend all softball related activities until further notice. This includes but not limited to:

Saturday pitching clinic
Saturday evaluation day
Saturday night travel practice

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates related to EGSL activities. Please continue to check in with our website updates and Facebook page.

If you have any concerns or questions please feel free to email us at eastongirlssoftball@outlook.com

We look forward to being back on the fields and getting the girls together as soon as it’s deemed safe.

Thank you
EGSL Board
